Academics are currently recruiting confident, enthusiastic, and reliable Cover Supervisors to join our supply team, working across mainstream secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, and Cheshire.

This flexible opportunity is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to build classroom experience, enjoy a better work-life balance, or return to work on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise whole classes during the absence of the class teacher
  • Deliver pre-planned lesson materials across a variety of secondary subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students in staying engaged and on task throughout lessons
  • Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school

For this role, applicants who apply must have:

  • UK-based experience working with young people in a school, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work etc
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading and supervising groups of students independently
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above preferred)
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education settings
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
