Position: English Teacher

Pay: To scale – (£153.84 to £238.58 per day)

Contract: Full-Time

Start Date: April 2024 or sooner if possible 

Our client Secondary school is located within Durham with access from surrounding areas via the A1/A1(M) or the A68. For educators who do not drive, there are many public transport links from the surrounding areas of The North East.


  • QTS or equivalent.
  • Have great knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum, with knowledge of teaching English Literature and Language.
  • Great classroom management skills.
  • Have a child only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for it. (We can help you apply during registration).
  • Provide 2 professional references from recent employment.

Job Brief

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 English, to a range of abilities.
  • Array of extracurricular activities to get involved with.
  • Contribute to the departments journey of continually improving results.
  • Plan, deliver and mark English lessons to meet the needs of students at various levels of learning.
