Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity? Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present a full-time position for an English Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Denton. This role is available immediately after Easter and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring and educating students in the English language and literature, fostering their love for reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing English lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, catering to students' diverse learning needs and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons covering a wide range of topics, including literature analysis, creative writing, grammar, and language skills development.
  • Literature Exploration: Introduce students to various literary genres, texts, and authors, fostering their appreciation for literature and helping them develop analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Writing Skills: Support students in honing their writing abilities across different genres, providing guidance on structure, style, and expression.
  • Language Study: Teach grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary, helping students enhance their language proficiency and communication skills.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment, implementing effective behaviour management strategies to promote a conducive atmosphere for learning.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across the school, sharing best practices and resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English language and literature.
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to fostering a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking among students.
