English Teacher

Smile Education are proud to be working alongside the Thorns Collegiate Academy to assist in their recruitment of a Humanities/English Teacher. The role is being offered on a full-time basis and will be a long term placement.

Smile Education are a Managed Service Provider for the Shireland Collegiate Trust, meaning we are in partnership with the schools and their first port of call for recruitment. We assist them with both temporary and permanent recruitment, all of their roles come to Smile first, sometimes before advertised by the Schools.

The school offers a well-established Literacy for Life curriculum at Key Stage 3. This thematic and competency-based curriculum is technology and experience rich, providing an excellent foundation to KS4. This is a project-based learning curriculum that is well suited to agile teachers.

We would like applicants to have demonstrative experience in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Strong working knowledge of effective assessment and intervention is essential to ensure equal opportunities across the school.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

• Hold a relevant teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Knowledge of the Secondary Curriculum
• Able and willing to travel to the Brierley Hill area
