Join a Team as an English Teacher at a PRU!

A reputable Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is seeking a talented and dedicated English Teacher to join their team for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons to students with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioural difficulties.
  • Creating differentiated learning activities and resources to meet the individual needs of students and promote academic progress.
  • Establishing a positive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, including SENCOs and support staff, to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing feedback, and adapting teaching strategies as needed to support student growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in English or relevant subject area.
  • Previous experience teaching English to students with diverse needs, preferably within a PRU or alternative provision setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
