As a Secondary English Teacher focusing on KS4, your role is to guide students through that process. You will help them move from basic responses to structured, confident writing, giving them the tools to succeed in GCSE English.

Key responsibilities
Teach English Language and Literature at KS4
Plan lessons that focus on writing structure and clarity
Model high-quality answers and responses
Support students with exam preparation and technique
Provide feedback that leads to measurable improvement
Track student progress and address gaps
Maintain a calm, focused classroom environment

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and purposeful
Students understand how to approach tasks
Writing improves through guidance and repetition
Expectations are clear and consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Strong understanding of GCSE requirements
Clear communication and modelling skills
Confident classroom management

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with strong English or humanities backgrounds
