Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Yeovil from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who believes every young person deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of the barriers they face.

You'll be teaching pupils who require specialist support, adapting your approach to meet a variety of additional needs while helping students develop confidence, communication skills and a love of learning.

We're looking for someone with proven classroom experience who can hit the ground running from the start of the academic year. This is not a role suited to an ECT; the successful candidate will be confident managing their own timetable, planning engaging lessons and supporting learners with diverse educational profiles.

You will deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, tailoring teaching to ensure every pupil can access the curriculum and achieve meaningful progress.

  • Planning and delivering creative, differentiated English lessons.
  • Teaching a range of qualifications, including GCSE where appropriate.
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and additional learning needs.
  • Monitoring progress and using assessment to inform future planning.
  • Creating a structured, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff.
  • Contributing to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans where required.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, resilience and engagement.
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has recent experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism or other additional needs.
  • Can confidently differentiate lessons to meet a wide range of abilities.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Is ready to make an immediate impact from September 2026.

Experience within a specialist school or alternative provision would be highly advantageous.

As the UK's leading education recruitment agency, Teaching Personnel is committed to supporting you throughout your placement.

  • Competitive weekly PAYE pay.
  • A dedicated consultant offering personalised support.
  • Access to free and discounted CPD and professional development.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Easy access to payslips and timesheets through the myTP portal.
  • Opportunities to secure long-term and permanent roles.
  • Ongoing guidance throughout your placement and beyond.

If you're an experienced English Teacher looking to join a specialist educational environment where your expertise will make a lasting difference, we'd love to hear from you.
