You will deliver engaging English lessons that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, helping students develop the literacy skills and confidence they need both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Design engaging schemes of work that bring literature and language to life
  • Challenge students through varied teaching strategies that meet a range of learning needs
  • Use assessment effectively to inform planning and raise attainment
  • Support students in developing independent learning and strong analytical skills
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as reading initiatives, writing competitions, or theatre visits
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote academic and personal success
  • Play an active role within the English department and contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is welcomed but not essential)
  • Demonstrates a passion for literature and language with the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
  • Has excellent organisational skills and a reflective approach to teaching
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider school community
