Teaching Personnel are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a new purpose-built independent school supporting young people aged 8–16 with Autism, Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and associated mental health needs, including developmental trauma.

The school delivers a therapeutic, multi-disciplinary approach that combines education, therapy and family support to help learners re-engage with education. Facilities include specialist classrooms, sensory integration spaces, therapy rooms, a workshop, polytunnel and Forest School provision.

We are seeking a qualified English Teacher who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and can also confidently deliver a second subject when required. This is a full teaching role, including planning, preparation and marking, with dedicated PPA time provided.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Be confident delivering engaging, well-planned and structured lessons
  • Have high expectations and aspirations for all learners
  • Be adaptable, flexible and able to respond to individual student needs
  • Enjoy working with students who may struggle to engage with education
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be comfortable teaching within small classes, often with a 1:3 staff-to-student ratio
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils and colleagues

This setting offers a refreshing alternative to mainstream education. With no uniforms, staff addressed by their first names and a culture built on mutual respect, the school prioritises relationships, wellbeing and personalised learning. With a small cohort of students, teachers have the opportunity to make a genuine impact and rediscover the joy of teaching in a supportive environment.

This is an ASAP start with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

If you are looking for a rewarding teaching role where you can truly change lives and be part of an exceptional team, we would love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
