Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Telford area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher or ECT looking for a long-term role where they can help students develop confidence, resilience and strong mathematical skills. The school has high expectations for both staff and students, creating a positive learning environment where young people are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You'll join a collaborative department that values engaging lessons, clear progression and helping students apply their learning to real-life situations.
Alongside classroom teaching, the school offers a wide range of enrichment activities, careers experiences and extracurricular opportunities, giving students a well-rounded education beyond the curriculum.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach GCSE Maths, with the opportunity to teach A Level where appropriate
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiate lessons to support students with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and learning.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, problem-solving skills and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
We're Looking For
- A qualified Maths Teacher or Maths ECT.
- Experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
- Strong knowledge of the secondary Maths curriculum.
- Experience teaching GCSE Maths.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A flexible and reliable approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.
