A high-achieving secondary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English to join their esteemed faculty starting in September 2024. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the English curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and support the school’s enrichment programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, progress, and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, including Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider school community.

Desirable:

  • Experience with exam preparation and familiarity with current examination boards and requirements.
  • Involvement in curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
