About the Role: There is a growing demand for tutors on the Isle of Wight to support students who are unable to attend mainstream school due to various reasons, including SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and Lower Learning Levels. Teaching Personnel works closely with local authorities to provide personalized 1:1 tuition for these students. We are now recruiting tutors to work with secondary students across all key stages, focusing on English, Maths, and Science.

What the Role Involves:

• Delivering tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to students in their homes or local areas such as public libraries.
• Planning and adapting resources to meet the individual needs of each student, whether it's academic subjects or educational learning through play.
• Utilizing engaging teaching techniques to keep students motivated and focused during sessions.
• Implementing effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Building strong rapport and meaningful relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth.

What We're Looking For:

• Candidates with experience in SEMH and/or SEN, particularly in working with students who may present challenging behavior.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to each student’s learning level and preferences.
• Proficiency in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
